Course Introduction

This part-time course delivered in partnership with the University of Plymouth takes place one day per week (afternoon/evening).
Designed to develop management potential the HNC in Business & Management is a specialist work-related programme intended to meet the changing needs of industry, commerce and public services. It allows those already working to continue to study and use their existing workplace experience to use in a classroom environment whilst gaining a recognised business qualification.
Aims: 
Specifically the course will aim to:
enable learners to gain a nationally recognised vocational qualification
develop a range of skills and techniques, personal qualities and attributes essential for successful performance in working life
enable learners to make an immediate contribution to employment Management.
enhance career development opportunities
equip learners with knowledge, understanding and skills for success in a range of administrative and management positions in business
give learners the opportunity to progress to higher education qualifications such as a full-time degree in business or a related area.

Progression/Career Opportunities: 
The course helps you reflect on business operations, management and planning and provides you with new opportunities to develop your business career or to progress your existing careers within the public or private sector.
Progression to a Full Degree: 
Opportunities are available for students who successfully complete the HNC in Business & Management to apply to progress to Year 2 of a full BA Honours degree. In certain circumstances students may also progress to a top-up year subject to relevant additional experiential learning and/or academic credit points.
